Integrating Hardware and Defining Labels
WMS+ allows administrators to configure and manage warehouse hardware, including printers, scanners, scales and mobile devices through a central interface in the Admin Panel. It also controls dynamic label printing, ensuring the correct label prints at the correct time on the correct device.
Administrators use WMS+ to configure hardware, assign label templates to warehouse events and monitor label output using tools like Label Watcher. All tasks described here are administrative.
Configuration Overview
Admins can manage:
Label printers: Assign by user, process or label type. Supports ZPL and Crystal layouts.
Scanners: Register Android handhelds or vehicle-mounted scanners.
Scales: Connect digital scales over TCP/IP and test using mock mode if needed.
Label templates: Create or import ZPL or Simplate layouts and assign them to warehouse events.
Process settings: Control when and how labels print during WMS+ operations.
All configurations are located in the Admin Panel → Common Configuration, under Hardware Configuration and Labels Configuration.
How Label Printing Works
WMS+ determines:
When to print: Based on a warehouse event.
What to print: Based on user, process or label layout.
Where to print: Based on mapped printer assignment.
Label Watcher allows previewing and debugging output. Fallback rules ensure label issues do not interrupt operations.
Admin Duties
Admins are responsible for:
Assigning and maintaining warehouse devices.
Creating and mapping valid label templates.
Monitoring output using Label Watcher.
Ensuring hardware compatibility and network stability.
