Applying Guided Picking
Guided Picking in WMS+ helps users locate stock quickly and accurately by suggesting the correct bin or batch for each pick task. It reduces pick times, minimizes spoilage and improves route efficiency across the warehouse.
Guided Picking is available in the following workflows:
Inventory Transfer Requests.
Issues to Production.
Sales Orders and Pick Lists.
Shipping a List or an Order.
Shipping a Vendor Return Request.
WMS+ automatically recommends bin locations based on document batch allocations, available inventory and default bin settings when Guided Picking is enabled.

Guided Picking Logic
WMS+ suggests bin locations using the following logic:
If a batch is assigned to the base document, WMS+ suggests the first bin containing that batch with available quantity.
If the item is not batch managed, WMS+ suggests the default picking bin location from Item Master Data.
If a receiving bin is set in WMS+ Process Settings, it is suggested first. Otherwise, the default storage bin is recommended.
Sort Options in Picking Tasks
To improve efficiency, Guided Picking tasks can be sorted in different ways. Sorting reduces walking time between picks and allows users to follow a consistent sequence. Options include:
Document Row Number: Sorts by the original document line sequence.
Bin Location Code: Sorts by the alphanumeric bin codes.
Bin Location Alt Sort Code: Sorts by warehouse-defined picking sequences.
Users can switch between ascending or descending order depending on where they begin in the warehouse.
Batch Allocations and Accuracy
Batch allocations in base documents are optional but strongly recommended. When a batch is allocated in SAP Business One, WMS+ guides the user to the correct bin that contains the batch. This ensures correct shelf-life usage, tighter inventory control and better customer service outcomes.
