Executing Pick Lists and Sales Orders

Executing Pick Lists and Sales Orders

Warehouse staff use the Pick Lists workflow in WMS+ to fulfill inventory movements based on released pick lists from SAP Business One. The process covers selecting the document, scanning or selecting items to pick and completing the trip. Sales Order picking follows the same flow.

Note: For details on pallet handling behavior and item type differences (batch-managed vs non-batch), see the Receiving and Inventory Intake Overview.

When all items are picked, the Pick List screen displays List is Empty. If Show Completed is enabled, completed lines appear in green.

Viewing Scan Counters During Picking

WMS+ displays live scan counters for each item line while picking.
The counters update automatically after every barcode scan or manual entry, allowing pickers to track progress and confirm that all required quantities have been scanned before completing the trip.

Finalize the Pick and Complete the Trip
Click Next to proceed. WMS+ prompts for the staging bin location where picked items are placed. Select the correct location and click Complete.

A confirmation message, Transaction Saved, appears. Click Complete again and confirm when prompted: ‘Are you sure you want to complete this trip?’

Click OK to finalize.

If printing is enabled, WMS+ displays the Crystal Report layout. Print if required or click Done to return to the Picking sub-menu.

Common Scenarios

  • Picking for Sales Orders. Sales Orders can be picked directly in WMS+ using the same workflow as Pick Lists.

  • Batch or serial items. When applicable, WMS+ prompts for batch or serial entry during the pick.

  • Partial picks. If stock is short, only available quantities can be picked, with remaining lines left open.

  • Bin guidance. Assigned bins from SAP Business One are highlighted in yellow to guide pickers.

  • Staging for dispatch. Completed picks are placed into staging bins, ready for packing or shipment.

Summary

To execute a pick, select the released Pick List, scan or select items from the assigned bins, confirm picked quantities, and complete the trip by staging items in the correct location.
