RMQ and IMQ Configuration

RMQ and IMQ Configuration

Retail RMQ (Retail Quantity)

In SAP Business One, Retail RMQ stands for Retail Quantity. It is configured using the user-defined field, SEM “Retail” quantity. The Retail RMQ field specifies the quantity WMS+ applies per scan when no embedded quantity is present in the barcode.

  • For items handled in packs of 4, set the Retail RMQ value to 4.

  • For items dealt with individually, set the value to 1.

WMS+ references the Retail RMQ value in workflows such as receiving, picking and inventory adjustments to determine how many units to add with each scan.

The Retail RMQ field is included in standard DTW templates and barcode configuration tools to ensure consistent transaction behavior.

Inventory Management Quantity (Warehouse Quantity)

Inventory Management Quantity, or Warehouse Quantity, is defined using the user-defined field, SEM: “Warehouse” quantity. The Warehouse Quantity field defines how many retail units are contained in a single warehouse-handled unit, such as a case or outer pack.

  • If a case contains 6 retail units, set the Warehouse Quantity value to 6.

WMS+ uses the Warehouse Quantity field to maintain accurate on-hand balances in inventory movements where cases or packs are used instead of individual units.

Why the Distinction Matters

Retail Quantity defines how WMS+ responds to scanned inputs. Warehouse Quantity controls how inventory is recorded and maintained in the system. The two fields work hand in hand to ensure that what is scanned accurately reflects what is happening on the ground, without affecting your inventory records. One guides the scanning process, the other governs how stock is tracked.
