Creating WMS+ Users

Creating WMS+ Users

The Creating and Linking Users process explains how administrators add and connect user records between SAP Business One and WMS+. All authentication for WMS+ begins with user creation in SAP, where each account is stored in the OUSR table. Administrators create the user, link it to an employee record, configure WMS+ access fields, and verify that the record is active before assigning a WMS+ license to ensure consistent identity management across SAP and WMS+.

General Workflow

Create the System User

Navigation Path:

Administration → Setup → General → Users

Complete the following fields:

  • User Code

  • User Name and Password.

If applicable, assign the correct Department and Branch, then click Add to save. These fields are important because WMS+ uses them to define each user’s operational scope. Document and warehouse visibility, as well as default behavior in certain processes (such as Receiving or Picking), can depend on the Branch or Department assigned in the user setup. Setting these fields correctly limits each user’s view to the warehouse and documents within their assigned area of responsibility.

Prerequisites for Proper WMS+ Access

Open the User-Defined Fields panel using Ctrl + Shift + U or View → User-Defined Fields.

  • Set [SEM] Is SEM User to Yes to grant WMS+ access.

  • Set [SEM] Admin User to Yes only if the user requires Admin Panel access.

  • Leave all other fields blank unless specifically required by your environment.

Click Update to save.

Before assigning a WMS+ license, confirm that the user record meets the following conditions:

  • The user is active in SAP Business One.

  • A valid SAP license is assigned.

  • [SEM] Is SEM User is set to Yes.

  • The user has required SAP authorizations and menu access for WMS+ processes.

  • The correct Branch, Department, and User Defaults are selected.

  • A WMS+ license is available and assigned.

Summary

Creating and linking users establishes the foundation for authentication across SAP Business One and WMS+. Each user must have a corresponding employee record, a valid system user entry, and WMS+ access enabled through user-defined fields. Verifying the record in OUSR confirms that the user is active and ready for WMS+ licensing and synchronization.
