    Performing Inventory Adjustments IN

    1 Workflow Summary | 2 Receiving Steps in WMS+ | 3 Common Scenarios | 4 Summary

Inventory Adjustment In is used to add stock into inventory when it is physically present but not linked to a purchase order or production receipt. Use this workflow to record items such as found stock, overruns, samples, returns without a request, cycle count corrections or opening balances. Completing an Inventory Adjustment In creates an Inventory Goods Receipt in SAP Business One with the selected Reason Code and any required traceability data.

Note: For details on pallet handling behavior and item type differences (batch-managed vs non-batch), see the Receiving and Inventory Intake Overview.

    Workflow Summary

    • Entry Point: Inventory → Inventory Adjustment-In

    • Source Document: None (scanned or manual entry)

    • User Role: WMS+ Receiving Operator (Manual Intake)

    • Outputs: Inventory Goods Receipt in SAP Business One and optional Crystal Report printout

    Receiving Steps in WMS+

    Access the Inventory Module

    • From the main WMS+ menu, click Inventory, then select Inventory Adjustment-In.

    Select Item to Receive

    • Start by scanning the item barcode. If a valid quantity is embedded, WMS+ parses it and adds the item to the Goods Receiving screen.

    • Supported GS1 barcodes can provide item code, quantity, batch number, expiration date and other attributes.

Scan Barcode or Choose From List.png
    • To select an item from the list, click Choose from List (top right). Use the search bar to find by name or code.

    • Batch-managed items show a three-box icon. Serial-managed items show a hashtag.

    • Click an item to open the batch entry screen, enter traceability information and then return to the main screen.

    Enter Traceability Information

    • On the Batch screen, enter:

    • Quantity

      • Lot number

      • Expiration date and manufacturing date

      • Notes or free text if required

    • Click Add to confirm.

    Assign Reason Code

    • On the Goods Receiving screen, click the Reason Code field and select a code from the dropdown. If Reason Codes are active for the process, selection is required before completing the adjustment.

Adjust Quantity or Add Additional Items

    • To add more batches, click the orange + icon on the item row.

    • To change a quantity, use plus or minus controls on the row or reopen the batch entry.

    Set Destination Bin

    • Click Next to open the Destination screen.

    • Confirm or update the suggested warehouse and bin. WMS+ may suggest a bin based on default rules or the last location memory.

    • Click Complete to proceed.

    Post the Adjustment

    • WMS+ saves the transaction and displays Transaction Saved.

    • Click Complete again to finalize the trip, and then click OK when prompted.

    Common Scenarios

    • Reason Code enforcement: When Reason Codes are active for Inventory Adjustment In, a valid code must be selected before completion to record the business reason for the receipt.

    • Batch-managed products: Batch-managed items prompt for lot number, expiration date, and quantity on the Batch screen to maintain traceability.

    • Scanning quantity behavior: Quantity may be parsed from GS1 barcodes, taken from item defaults, or entered manually when no valid quantity is present.

    • Pallet handling context: If pallet handling is enabled at the site, pallet behavior may appear during intake. For details, see the Receiving and Inventory Intake Overview.

    Summary

The Inventory Adjustment In workflow allows warehouse staff to add stock into inventory when it is physically present but not linked to a purchase order or production receipt. Users scan or select items, enter batch or serial details if required, assign a Reason Code and confirm the destination bin. Once completed, WMS+ posts an Inventory Goods Receipt in SAP Business One, with an optional Crystal Report printout if configured.
