Performing Inventory Transfers (Ad Hoc)

WMS+ supports ad hoc inventory transfers when stock needs to be moved between bin locations in the same warehouse. These transfers are not based on system-generated requests.

Workflow Summary

  • Entry Point: Inventory → New Transfer.

  • Source Document: None (manual transfer).

  • User Role: Inventory transfer operator.

  • Outputs: Inventory transfer record in SAP Business One.


Step-by-Step Instructions

Open the Transfer module.
From the WMS+ main menu, click Inventory and select New Transfer.

Select or scan inventory.

  • Scan a bin location to display its contents or scan an item barcode directly to begin the selection.

  • Enter the transfer quantity by clicking the item row.

Proceed to the destination.
Click Next to open the destination screen.

Select destination bin.
Choose the warehouse and bin location to receive the stock.

Complete the transfer.

  • Click Complete to process the transfer. A confirmation message appears: Transaction Saved.

  • Click Complete again to confirm. When prompted, click OK to finalize.

(Optional) Print transfer report.

  • After finalizing, the Transfer Complete screen appears.

  • If printing is configured, a Crystal Report layout is triggered.

Common Scenarios

  • Moving stock to replenishment bins.

  • Consolidating stock into fewer bins.

  • Transferring material to staging bins for outbound picking.


Summary

To perform an ad hoc inventory transfer, select the New Transfer option, scan or select the source bin or items, enter the transfer quantity, specify the destination bin, and then complete the transfer. The results are saved into SAP Business One, and an optional transfer report may be printed if configured.
